Summary

I designed an AI-powered quiz generator for teachers, Allowing teachers to create and schedule quizzes for any subject and topic in less than 5 minutes. I also designed a personalised learning system for students where they can test themselves on anything with a quiz and which created a unique student learning profiles through spaced repetition and per-question performance analysis.

01 — Problem

What if every student could learn at their own pace?

In the age of Artificial Intelligence, learning has never been more accessible. But just reading or watching anything does not make sure you actually learned something.

One of the best ways to learn is to test your knowledge frequently with spaced repetition.

This method is well established in research but almost entirely absent from how schools operate today.

02 — Research

Research & Key Insights

We talked with teachers & parents during the Parent-teacher meetings to understand the what parents are hoping for in the age of A.I, And what do teachers expect now that tools like 'ChatGPT' can generate syllabus or prepare study material.

Students can easily submit homework using 'ChatGPT', teachers want a system where students do use A.I but also learn at the same time.

We learnt 2 main things.

  • Parents are ready to invest in tools that ensure their child has an edge over others

  • Teachers want tools that not only free up their time from paperwork but also help students learn with A.I instead of avoiding it.

Research Method

Survey with parents at parent-teacher meetings in tier 2,3 city schools to understand hopes and fears in with A.I assisted learning.

I designed a simple Form that Teachers or anyone can fill and generate and schedule a quiz for the right audience in less than 5m

Live Quiz Dashboard

Teachers or admins can see whenever a quiz is live and track progress based on how everyone is performing.

Student Quiz Experience

Students get AI insights on their performance and recommended quizzes whenever they click Get New Quiz.

With learning Streak & Performance insights both students and their parents can keep track of their learning progress.

We also added a next content suggestion based on current quiz performance.

Personalised learning system

After any quiz is over students get recommendation for new quiz or study material based on the performance of most recent quiz.

Student Dashboard

Students get AI insights on their performance and recommended quizzes whenever they click Get New Quiz.

With learning Streak & Performance insights both students and their parents can keep track of their learning progress.

Impact

Qualitative Impact

Teachers now have a tool to create quizzes that are aligned with their curriculum in minutes.

Students get structured feedback on their learning journeys regardless of availability of tutor.

Quantitative Impact

This product is currently in testing phase and deployment metrics are not yet available.

The system has been validated with partner schools and is actively being iterated based on testing feedback.

05 — Conclusion

Learnings & Conclusion

Orbit is my most ambitious project in this portfolio because it is designed for a problem that doesn't have an immediate payoff.

A single quiz tells you very little. But fifty quizzes across six months, tracked against a student's specific gaps and strengths, builds the ultimate learning profile.

The product is still being validated. But the foundation of a learning loop that gets more personalised the more you use it, is what makes it worth building carefully.

Learnings

We started the product as a simple quiz generation tool, but the learning profile for students that is built over months became the final product that works for teachers, students and their parents.
