I designed a free school website builder that allows any administrator in tier 2 & tier 3 cities to set up and host a school website in under 10 minutes, with no technical skills required with support for built-in admission lead & visitor lead capture.

01 — Problem

How can we setup school websites
without technical expertise?

For school administrators in tier 2 & tier 3 cities, setting up a website for admission lead generation requires technical and financial resources most schools simply don't have.

Almost every household has a smartphone, and parents are increasingly active on social media, but the tools for school owners are very complicated.

You should not need a degree in I.T to create and setup website.

02 — Research

Research & Key Insights

After conducting a short survey with parents after parent-teacher meetings across tier 2, tier 3 city schools, we learned that word of mouth remains the primary driver of admission leads.

Parents rely on neighbours, relatives, and tuition teachers for school recommendations far more than online search.

This told us two things

  • Creating a Website wasn't enough, Updates & maintenance was equally important.

  • Parents are primarily using WhatsApp, so keeping track of Admission process on there would be incredibly helpful.

Research Method

Survey with parents at parent-teacher meetings in tier 2,3 city schools to understand how admission decisions are made.

Execution

Website Builder

We designed a simple form-based website builder that any administrator can complete on a phone or computer.

Admins can fill in details, upload images for their gallery, facilities and staff profiles, and have a live hosted website ready to share in under 10 minutes.

If any school admin wanted to transfer we created a website scraping tool that would fetch data from their existing website and it would fill most of the information automatically.

Admission & Visitor Lead Capture

The website includes an admission enquiry form and a school visitor submission form, giving the admin department a structured way to track leads and follow up without any additional tools.

Admission Form Submission

  • Parents can submit admission forms directly from website.

  • School Admin Receives query and can contact parent/guardian.

  • All admission related updates are sent to parent/guardian on WhatsApp

Visitor Form Submission

  • Parents/Guardian can book a visit directly from website.

  • School Admin Receives query and can contact parent/guardian.

Admission Dashboard

The school administrator can view and track all admission related queries in one place and monitor where the leads are coming from and keep parents in loop all from one dashboard.

05 — Conclusion

Learnings & Conclusion

With the help of the simple website builder tool, anybody from the school was able to manage their website (we used Role Based Access Control for security).

Online admission tracking in Admission Dashboard and with integration of WhatsApp messages allowed really helped small schools scale up their admissions.

Learnings

Simple reliable tools will always outperform where users have limited technical resources,

Building WhatsApp integration directly into admission experience helped convince lots of school to get onboarded in the platform
